DOG-HAPPY TEAMMATES | Located in Uxbridge, Ontario, owner Julie Heyes became inspired by her dog Jack. Julie adopted Jack at 11 months, 77 lbs and zero guidance in his life. She and Jack worked hard with her trainer to get things on track and while all the hard work was a challenge, Julie remained unrelenting and stubbled into a passion!
Julie led herself through formal education in Animal Behaviour, stays current in continuing education, learning from many tremendous leaders in their fields through on-going courses, webinars, conferences, and workshops. She spent years working alongside her mentor in group classes, is now a Certified L.E.G.S Family Dog Mediator through Kim Brophy’s Applied Ethology Family Dog Mediator Professional program and a Certified Games-Based Pro Dog Trainer through Absolute Dogs.
She offers private in-home lessons, new puppy consults, behaviour consults, one-of-a-kind off leash group classes, where each team enjoys a large, gated space to call their own! Practicing activities safely with the benefit of working around distractions. Specializing in a new model of puppy classes, called ‘Puppy & Me: Puppy Classes Reimagined’ which focuses on the importance of early development activities that support growth of emotional self-regulation, social processing, confidence and optimism.
